The Bulgaria Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has announced that security guards will be provided for state institutions for children.
Deputy Social Minister Valentina Simeonova confirmed that municipalities will be given government funding to pay for the security guards and that currently the process of selecting the specialist guards “who will pay particular attention to the protection and safety of the children.”
Simeonova announced soon after the recent tragic incident in a Krumovgrad orphanage in which 3 teenagers died in an explosion, that every social institution must now install a camera to monitor who and what is entering or leaving the building, and they must work to make sure that children are protected in the institution.
The Social Ministry in cooperation with municipalities will monitor the implementation of these protective measures, added Simeonova.
