Manuela Gorsova returned to her parent's home 18 months after falling into a coma as result of the traffic accident caused by world figure skating champion Maxim Staviiski.

The girl was threated in an Israeli clinic and was transported to Bulgaria one week ago. Until Friday, Manuela was listed in the Military Medical Academy in Sofia.

The ambulance arrived at 12:30 pm Friday in front of the apartment building in the Central Bulgarian city of Veliko Tarnovo where she lives. Her parents accompanied her during the trip from Sofia.

Manuela's father, Krasimir Gorsov, was seen carrying the girl in his arms to their third floor apartment. The doctor, traveling with the ambulance, announced Manuela has endured the trip just fine, but declined any comments about her general state.

Gorsov said the girl will be now under the care of doctors from the hospital in Veliko Tarnovo, which has been equipped with everything necessary to monitor Manuela's state.

Petar Hristov, the businessman, who was heavily involved in the charity campaign for Manuela and her treatment, has purchased a special hospital bed, worth over USD 7,000 and has provided a physical therapist, who will visit the girl daily.

The accident, leading to Manuela's comatosed state occurred on August 5 2007, after the champion skater veered into the opposite lane on a bridge over the Ropotamo River near Burgas and crashed headlong into another car with four people riding in it. At the time of the accident, Staviiski had 1,29 per miles of alcohol in his blood.
