Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev and Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov condemned the three terrorist attacks, which took place in France, Tunisia and Kuwait on Friday.

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the three attacks, which threatened the values of peace, democracy and freedom and expressed solidarity with the peoples of the three countries.

An attacker, who reportedly carried an Islamist flag, decapitated one person and injured several others at a factory in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier between the French cities of Lyon and Grenoble.

A suicide bomb exploded after the Friday prayer at the Imam Sadiq mosque in the capital of Kuwait – Kuwait City, killing more than ten people.

Gunmen targeted a beach near two tourist hotels in the Tunisian resort city of Sousse, leading to the death of at least 27 people.

According to the statement of the foreign ministry, which offered its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, there were no goals or policies justifying the murder of innocent people.

The ministry expressed hope that the civil society from the countries of the Middle East and North Africa will offer resistance and counter the spread of terrorist and radical philosophy by militant groups such as Islamic State (IS) and Al-Qaeda.

The statement called on all participants in the political processes taking place in the countries of the region to mobilise all available resources in the sake of restoring stability and security in all points of conflict, which are sources of tensions.

Plevneliev sent telegrams of condolence to French President Francois Hollande, his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi and Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The Bulgarian president condemned all forms of terrorism and violent murder of innocent people, adding that such terrorist attacks and acts of violence were incomprehensible and could not be justified.

The Head of State was firm in his stance that it was our common duty to unite efforts against this threat and work together towards making the world a more secure and peaceful place.

Plevneliev expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the ones injured in the attacks.
