Representatives of anti-government protesters in Bulgaria are set to meet Friday the chair of the S&D group at the European Parliament, Hannes Swoboda.

Protesters are expected to inform Swoboda of their grievances against Bulgaria's new cabinet of PM Plamen Oresharski, which is supported by the Bulgarian Socialist Party  (BSP), the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), and is tacitly backed by nationalists Ataka.

BSP is member of the Party of European Socialists, with BSP leader Sergey Stanishev also chairing the European Socialists.

Anti-governmetn protests against Bulgaria's fresh new cabinet started June 14, when PM Oresharski nominated and Parliament approved controversial media mogul and MRF MP Delyan Peevski to chair Bulgaria's State Agency for National Security.

Peevski stepped down the day after, but massive rallies in Bulgarian capital Sofia continued against what many see as an interweaving of politics with shady business structures resulting in a rule of "oligarchy."

Since August, the numerousness of rallies has dwindled, but people are still gathering on Sofia's streets every evening.
