World number one Judd Trump eased past John Higgins 4-0 to win the inaugural Bulgaria Open snooker tournament in Sofia.

Trump took the opening frame with breaks of 47 and 42 and then extended his advantage when Higgins missed the third-last red along the top cushion while just six points behind in frame two, Eurosport informs.

Trump was then on for a 147 before missing the 12th red in the third frame. However, he did not appear distracted, as he completed the victory with a run of 63 in the fourth frame.

The Bulgaria Open was the fourth event on snooker's European Tour which forms part of the Players Tour Championship. This year's tournament was the first major snooker event to be hosted by Bulgaria.
