Bulgarian Highway Thieves Tie, Dump Women in Field

Two women were found by Bulgarian police stranded in a countryside field, after they called 112 to be rescued.

The two women, aged 30 and 34 were traveling back from Germany, when they were attacked by highway robbers near the town of Lukovit in northern Bulgaria.

Another car caught up with theirs, pushing it to the side of the road, upon which 3 masked male individuals emerged and attacked them.

The thieves took away from the helpess victims golden jewelry, mobile phones and EUR 1,000 in cash.

They did not flee before tying their hands and feet with duct tape.

Swift police reaction has recovered one of the suspected perpetrators, a 38-year-old of criminal record from Sofia.

Further investigations are under way.
