Israeli-born ethno-pop singer Ishtar will stage a third concert in Bulgaria in 2011, the organizers have announced.
Besides the two gigs in Varna (June 3) and Sofia (June 5), the singer will also perform in Plovdiv on June 6 at the Antique Theater because of the huge interest by the Bulgarian audience.
Tickets for the concert in Plovdiv will be available from January 18. Until February 20, they will cost between BGN 20-60, as a special promotion. After that, their cost will be BGN 30-70.
This is not Ishtar's first visit to Bulgaria, the organizers point out. She performed in Varna and in the Sunny Beach resort in 2004 and in Sofia in 2006.
The singer began performing in clubs at age 14. Though she was born Eti Zach, she chose the name "Ishtar", which is the name of a Mesopotamian Goddess.
The Israeli pop diva is best known for her work as the front vocalist of the French-based band Alabina, and for her solo hits Last Kiss, C'est la vie and Habibi (Sawah).
The music of the 42-year-old singer is a mix of Oriental pop and traditional Arabic sounds and dance beats. Her songs are in French, Arabic, Spanish, English and Hebrew.
