Bulgaria: Missing Bulgarian Mushroom-Hunter Retuns Home Unharmed

A resident of the Bulgarian village of Sivino who went missing for three days after going to the forest to gather some mushrooms has returned home safe and unharmed.

43-year-old man explained that due to heavy rains and bad weather he chose to stay in a forest cabin instead of returning home.

His relatives were not aware of that and raised an alarm, after which a rescue operation was organized by police, border guards and mountain rescuers. As things turned out, their help was unneeded.

The village of Sivino is located in a remote area in central Southern Bulgaria in the Rhodope Mountains near the border with Greece.
