Three members of the Bulgarian government of Boyko Borisov have been exposed as having belonged to the so called “State Security”, the secret police and intelligence of the former communist regime.

In addition to the name of Bozhidar Dimitrov, Minister for Bulgarians Abroad, who used to be part of the “cultural” intelligence, spying on the Vatican, two more names were announced Wednesday by the so called Files Commission, which is in charge of checking and declassifying formerly secret information.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Krasimir Kostov, and Deputy Minister of Interior, Pavlin Dimitrov have been exposed as former state security collaborators.

In July and August 2009, the appointment of Bozhidar Dimitrov for Minister spurred a controversy exactly because he used to work for the former secret services.
