Bulgaria's Prime Minister-to-be, Boyko Borisov, is going to attend the party congress of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria on Friday.
Borisov, who is the leader of the GERB party, will be accompanied by the GERB Chair and Interior Minister nominee, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, and MEP Rumiana Jeleva, who is likely to be Bulgaria's new Foreign Minister.
The news was announced Thursday by the GERB party press center. Borisov's program during the Christian Social Union Congress in Nuremberg on July 17 includes a morning meeting with the Chair of the Hans Seidel Foundation, Dr. Hans Zehetmair, a press conference at 10:30 am, a working meeting with Christian Hegemer, head of the Institute for International Relations and Cooperation.
At 3:30 pm the GERB delegation led by Borisov is going to be present at the speech of the German Chancellor, Angela Merkal, who is the Chair of CSU's sister party, the Christian Democratic Union of Germany.
After that Borisov is going to have meetings with Horst Seehofer, Minister-President (Prime Minister) of Bavaria and leader of the CSU, the CSU General Secretary Alexander Dobrindt, and Joachim Hermann, Interior Minister of Bavaria.
The GERB delegation is going to have further meeting with Bavarian and German Christian Democratic politicians on Saturday, July 18.
The GERB party is a member of the European People's Party, and has received strong backing by fellow EPP parties, including the German CDU of Chancellor Merkel, and its sister party CSU.
