Illegal synthetic drugs, worth nearly BGN 6 M were discovered Wednesday during a raid conducted by Bulgaria's General Direction for Combating Organized Crime.

CDCOC employees from the Narcotics Department busted a 38-year-old Sofia resident with a criminal record, who was detainedafter being found in possession of 70 kilos of synthetic drugs.

The drugs have been kept in a storage room, rented by the "Selinet" company. Authorities believe that the shipment was in transit through Bulgaria with the Middle East as a final destination.

The raid has intercepted an international channel for the illegal trafficking of synthetic drugs.
