Customs officials in Greece are set to begin a new three-day strike later Tuesday, which will stop traffic crossing the Bulgaria-Greece border.

Customs officers will protest against a reduction of allowances and bonuses for civil servants under the Greek government scheme to overcome the budgetary crisis in the country. The strike is expected to create serious problems in supplying the fuel to the local market.

Meanwhile, various departments and structures of the Ministry of Finance will also start a 3-day strike on Tuesday again over the budget cuts. Tax-drivers are set to go on strike on Friday.

On 24 February the country will be paralyzed by a 24-hour general strike, which will involve the two main unions - the General Confederation of Labor and the Federation of Civil Servants. This follows a similar strike on February 10.
