Bulgaria: Easter Skiing in Bulgaria: Bansko Opens with Deep Snow and Discounted Lift Passes

The ski zone above Bansko is set to welcome visitors during the Easter holidays with exceptional late-season conditions, as snow cover near Todorka Peak has reached close to three meters. The resort will operate at full capacity, with all slopes and lifts open, offering favorable conditions for both skiers and snowboarders despite the spring calendar.

Daily maintenance of the pistes continues, ensuring good quality terrain for beginners and experienced winter sports enthusiasts alike. In addition, the resort has introduced seasonal price reductions for lift passes. Adult tickets will drop from 59 to 45 euros, while students and pensioners will pay 40 euros and children 20 euros. These discounted rates will apply throughout the April holiday period, including Easter.

The winter season in Bansko is scheduled to run until April 12, with the resort remaining open through the Orthodox Easter period, which concludes on April 13. This places it among the few destinations in the region still offering skiing at that time of year, combining sunny spring weather with relatively uncrowded slopes in the Pirin Mountains.

Other major Bulgarian resorts are also extending their seasons. Borovets will continue operations until April 12, while Pamporovo will keep its main ski zone open until the same date, although the Mechi Chal area has already closed.

Weather conditions across the country are expected to shift in the days leading up to Easter. While the week begins with relatively mild temperatures, a cooling trend is forecast from April 9, bringing rain to many areas and even snowfall in higher and northern regions. Over the weekend, conditions will turn colder and cloudier, with temperatures dropping close to freezing overnight and daytime highs generally between 5°C and 10°C, slightly warmer in eastern parts of the country.
