Tourists spent the night on the highway. On their return from a trip to Greece, the bus they traveled with suddenly stopped because it had run out of fuel. Passengers spent nearly 4 hours in the dark on the Struma highway. They claim that the driver has drained fuel for himself and therefore failed to reach Sofia, NOVA reported.
Tourists leave from Serdika Bus Terminal to Greece. During their stay in Greece everything was normal.
"On our way back, very late at night, around 22:30 we got stuck on the highway, little after Dupnitsa. There was a driver and a guide with us. We stopped and started a fuss. We understand that the fuel has run out of the bus, " told one of the passengers on the bus.
"There was no plan of behavior when there was a problem. Who is obliged to tell the passengers that there is a problem and what should happen next. The guide and the driver disappeared for about 15 minutes, "another bus driver said.
When passengers decide to call 112, they tell them to put the reflective triangle. However, it appears to be missing. And the passengers were also worried about the darkness inside the bus as the driver did not let the lights go, so the battery would not be exhausted.
"We, as a tour operator, are responsible for our tourists. The same bus was planned the next day to travel to Pamporovo. And when we calculated the fuel, there would have to be another 150 liters of gas. The manager of the transport company, whose bus was hired, did not know where the gas was and could not pinpoint who was to blame, "explained Dobromir Iliev, manager of the Global Tour travel agency.
The transport company Edelveis 0707, who provided the bus for the trip, refused to stand in front of a camera. But they assumed that a stranger at one of the stops had drained gasoline.
According to NOVA, the company "Edelveis 0707" was caught in 2016 for trafficking refugees, and in 2017 Grigor Grigorov, who is its boss, has been convicted of trafficking refugees.
