The Bulgarian Interior Ministry informed on Sunday that there was neither pressure at the country's border with Macedonia nor complication of the situation.
The General Directorate Border Police was exchanging real-time information with its colleagues at the border checkpoints in Macedonia, the interior ministry's press service informs.
The officers at the three border checkpoints – Zlatarevo, Stanke Lisichkovo and Gyueshevo are constantly in contact with their colleagues across the border.
Measures on reinforcing the guard were in place and it has been ordered that each change in situation should be reported to the director of border police.
Border police helicopters have been conducting periodic flights above the Bulgarian-Macedonian border and sections of the border with Greece since Saturday.
The aim of the flights is to monitor the situation and to obtain up-to-date information on the latest developments.
People have been detained at the borders with Turkey, Serbia and Romania, but no attempts at illegal crossing of the Bulgarian-Macedonian border were detected.
The migrant pressure on Macedonia has been heightening as an unprecedented number of refugees has attempted to cross into the country from Greece.
Macedonia declared state of emergency in two border regions last week and attempted to prevent the illegal crossing of refugees into the country.
Following clashes with Macedonian authorities, the migrants were allowed to cross into the country and most of them continued on to Serbia.
Meanwhile, the Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov will attend the annual conference of ambassadors in Skopje at the invitation of his Macedonian colleague Nikola Poposki.
Their Albanian colleague Ditmir Bushati was also invited to attend the event, the press service of the foreign ministry informs.
In his statement, Mitov is to highlight the main priorities in the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Macedonia and the challenges, which the countries of the region are facing.
The holding of a trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania is also foreseen.
