The second-largest Bulgarian city Plovdiv is to host the renowned Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2016, Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova has said.
At a ceremony in the town of Jesolo (in the province of Venice, Italy) where this year's event is taking place, Angelokova announced the event is to take place between April 29 and May 1, 2016, according to news website Dnevnik.bg.

This was confirmed by the contests' official account on Twitter, which cited the competition's Director Thomas Costenoble.
The National Vine and Wine Chamber and the International Fair Plovdiv are among the organizers, with support due to be provided by the ministries of tourism and agriculture.
This year, as many as 350 sommeliers from 51 countries are taking part in the competition in Jesolo, Italy.
"Bulgaria was picked in a competition with the world's biggest wine producers such as France, Spain, Australia, Chile and Argentina," Prime Minister Boyko Borisov wrote on Facebook shortly after Angelkova's announcement.
Plovdiv was picked last year to be the European Capital of Culture 2019 alongside Italy's Matera.
