Bulgaria: Sports, Elections, Diets, Love Most Frequently Googled by Bulgarians

The most frequently googled events by Bulgarians in 2014 are the FIFA World Cub and the elections, shows the Google Trends annual survey for Bulgaria.

The other three most searched events are the official holidays in 2014, Easter, the Olympic Games in Sochi.

The most searched persons were boxer Kubrat Pulev, actor Robin Williams, Krisia Todorova, Dzhoko Rosic and Vladimir Klitschko.

The most popular TV shows, not surprisingly, were reality formats Sadbi na Krastopat (Fates at Crossroads), VIP Brother 2014, Bulgaria Seeks Talent, The Voice of Bulgaria and Survivor.

Diets were another very popular topic among Bulgarian users. - So popular, that Google set them in a separate category in its survey. Most popular was the 90-day diet, followed by the Moon diet and the Wheat diet.

Bulgarians, however, are also interested in culinary. The most searched recipes were for crepes, cake, muffins, kozunak (a traditional sweet Easter bread) and lentils.

After all this eating, the most popular “how to” question is “how to lose weight”, followed by “how to get pregnant”, “how to draw...”, “how to gain weight” and “how to vote”.

Bulgarians tend to wax philosophical and the most popular “what is” question was “what is love”. It is followed by more practical matters such as “what is swag”, “what is ebola”, “what is selfie” and “what is android”.

Geographical knowledge is not a top priority when Bulgarians ask Google the question “where is”. The most popular search there is “where is Mindi” (this is the title of an apparently popular Bulgarian rap song). The third most popular once again has to do with matters of the heart - “where is the love”. The fifth is “where is yakoto” (the cool). Geographical locations take the second and fourth place - “where is Dubai” and “where is Razgrad”, respectively.
