Bulgaria: Ukrainian Protesters Lift Occupations of Govt Buildings EPA/BGNES

Protesters in Ukraine have started lifting months long occupations of a number of adminsitrative buildings, a part of a compromise deal with the government.

The occupied buildings include the symbolic Kiev mayor's office, as well as the offices of four regional administrations across the country.

In January, the Ukrainian parliament passed a law giving amnesty to protesters, in return for a lifting of blockades and occupations of official buildings.

While at first protesters snubbed the move, they have proven more cooperative after the resignation of PM Mykola Azarov and expectations that President Viktor Yanukovych will nominate a new PM from the opposition.
