Bulgarian Border Police Nab EUR 1.2 Worth of Heroin

Bulgarian border authorities have detained a shipment of heroin worth some BGN 2.3 M at the Malko Tarnovo crossing point on the border with Turkey.

The drug shipment, weighing some 26 kg, was discovered hidden in a private car driven by a Bulgarian citizen.

The trafficker, a resident of the southern Bulgarian city of Haskovo, has been detained, along with four other accomplices from Haskovo that the police identified.

Investigations on the case continue, said the police in a statement.
