At total of four children were admitted to hospital in Bulgaria’s Danube city of Ruse after ordering food from a local restaurant.

The four grade-nine students felt nausea after consuming their meals, with one of them vomiting, according to local media.

It was initially reported that the restaurant in question was Chinese. However, it was later made clear that the owners and employees of the establishment were Bulgarian.

The restaurant has been temporarily closed.

An investigation into the cause of the food poisoning has been launched by local authorities.
