From July to October 2012, Bulgaria exported to the Russian market about 9.2 thousand tons of grapes.
That is 2 times less than for the same period last year. Thus, over these four months, the supply did not exceed 2.7 thousand tons per month, while in October last year it reached 7.5 thousand tons.
According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), export of grapes from Bulgaria to Russia over the past three seasons has been steadily declining.
Thus, in the 2011-2012 season Bulgaria delivered to Russia only about 26.7 thousand tons of grapes, while back in the 2009-2010 season the supply of the product reached more than 38.2 thousand tons.
However, Bulgaria still remains one of the leading suppliers of grapes to Russia.
To date, the country ranks fourth largest supplier of grapes to the country, behind Turkey, Uzbekistan and Moldova.
