A bank branch in the Black Sea city of Burgas has been robbed.

The metal cash box containing BGN 19 794, EUR 5445, GBP 255 and USD 411 is missing, according to reports of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).

The bank branch, located on Patriarch Evtimii Str in Burgas, was broken into through a hole drilled into the plasterboard wall from an adjacent room.

The plasterboard wall divides the first floor of the building in two parts, one of which is the bank branch and the other one is  empty at the moment.

The bank branch is guarded by the District Police Directorate in Burgas but the maintenance of the alarm systems is carried out by a private company.

The investigation into the case continues.
