Denis Sugrobov, head of the Main Directorate for Countering Economic Crimes at the Russian Interior Ministry, has listed Bulgaria as a major supplier of fake goods to the Russian market.

In an interview for RIA Novosti, Sugrobov argues that counterfeit goods bearing famous brands, names and logo arrive in Russia mainly from Southeast Asia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland and Ukraine.

The expert suggests that the share of fakes items made in Russia is negligible and consists of a limited number of counterfeited food products and audio-visual products.

Fake products of the textile and light industries account for up to 37% of the turnover in Russia's retail network, while the market of counterfeit cosmetics and perfumes, household chemicals, food tins, dairy products, beverages and confectionery is estimated at 15-30%.
