German football legend and current coach of the Bulgarian national team has been punched at the Spanish resort of Ibiza's airport during a robbery.

Matthaeus was hit by an extremely tall man, after which a close friend of his, Verena Kerth, was robbed, German media reported Tuesday, as cited by the Bulgarian Dnevnik daily.

Matthaeus arrived in Ibiza together with 30 other guests in order to celebrate Kerth's birthday. Kerth, who is the ex-girlfriend of famous former goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, lost credit cards, jewellery and EUR 800 in cash.
