The line-up of Bulgaria's sixth annual Kaliakra Rock fest, set to take part July 15-17 in Kavarna includes seminal melancholic metal acts, such as Paradise Lost, Opeth, Katatonia, Tiamat and Moonspell.

Sweden's progressive metallers Opeth and alternative countrymen Katatonia will visit for the first Bulgaria for the first time, as will gothic rockers Tiamat, also hailing from Sweden.

The first day of Kavarna Rock Fest 2011 will see creators of the gothic metal genre Paradise Lost in headline in Bulgaria for the third time, while the second day will feature Portugese gothic metallers Moonspell.

The third and last day will be a bit more upbeat, with Swedish melodic death metal mammoths Arch Enemy. The dark side will be represented by doomsters Lake of Tears.

As usual, the sixth annual Kavarna Rock Fest will take place at the Kaliakra stadium in the northern Bulgarian Black Sea town of Kavarna.

Organizers from Loud Concerts have stated they wanted to achieve consistency by inviting key bands playing various types of melancholic metal, but also sought for variety, by bringing names such as Arch Enemy and Finnish power metallers Sonata Arctica.

A number of newcomer bands will play at the fest, including Swiss melodic death metallers Dreamshade, UK metallers Sylosis and Greek old school thrashers Suicidal Angels.

The line-up for the three days is as follows:

15 July: Paradise Lost, Sonata Arctica, Katatonia, Dreamshade

16 July: Opeth, Moonspell, Tiamat, Sylosis

17 July: Arch Enemy, Lake of Tears, Suicidal Angels.
