Four-times world snooker champion John Higgins said he was delighted by the Bulgarian organization of the 2011 European Snooker Championship.
"I am pleased that snooker is enlarging its geography and I hope Bulgaria will host more high-ranked snooker tournaments," he said in Sofia, where he is a guest at the event.
Higgins met with Bulgaria's Sport Minister Svilen Neykov, who presented hip with a bottle of Bulgarian wine. Neykov declared he was extremely glad over the legendary player's visit.
John Higgins has four world titles (1998, 2007, 2009, 2011). To date, he has won a total of 24 ranking titles and compiled over 400 competitive century breaks, including five maximum 147 breaks.
On Thursday, Higgins will hold demonstration games against Bulgarian players.
