Yorgo the Bulgarian Shepherd puppy, a gift from Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov, thrives in his new home – Russian PM Vladimir Putin's Residence in Novo-Ogarevo near Moscow.
Putin's adorable new friend has felt fine during the flight to the Moscow and adjusts fast to the new environment, according to the Russian PM's Press-Secretary Dmitriy Peskov.
"This dog surely will not be left hungry," Boyko Borisov said Saturday upon presenting it to his Russian counterpart.
Yorgo will surely not feel lonely, too: he will enjoy the company of Putin's 11-year old black Labrador Connie. The Russian PM is renowned for his passion for animals.
Peskov did not exclude the possibility of Putin renaming his new puppy.
Yorgo the Shepherd dog was born on August 29 2010. He has 9 brothers and one sister and was originally named Ares, after the Greek god of war.
The Bulgarian shepherd dog is an extremely rare breed which originated in Bulgaria as a mountain livestock guardian dog. Bulgarian Shepherd dogs are large, long-haired, massive and with a well-developed musculature.
The Bulgarian Shepherd was recognized as a separate breed only a few months ago as a result of the efforts of the Bulgarian government.
Another male puppy of Borisov's is reportedly being secretly trained as a gift for present US President Barack Obama.
