UK urban design and architecture company Stephen George International will open an office in Bulgaria's Sofia, which will serve as its center for the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

The opening of the Sofia office of the SGI company was announced at a presentation with the participation of the UK Ambassador to Bulgaria, Steve Williams.

"Bulgaria has a lot to offer in architectural terms: unique architectural heritage, space and diversity of the terrain and a climate which many countries could only dream of. He compared Bulgaria with a rough diamond which simply needs to be cut and polished, said Alexander Daw, Co-Director of the Sofia Office of Stephen George International, as cited by BTA.

The Stephen George architecture firm was founded in 1970, and has offices in Leicester, Nottingham, Leeds and Solihull.

The British Ambassador in Sofia compared Bulgaria to an "unpolished diamond." He pointed out that Britain remains among the largest foreign investors in Bulgaria.
