More Arrests in Bulgaria Targeting Vote-Buying Before the April Elections
A specialized police operation targeting vote buying has led to the arrest of three individuals in the town of Byala Slatina, authorities confirmed

Georgi Valev, a businessman from the Bulgarian city of Veliko Tarnovo, was arrested Thursday in connection to "The Killers" crime group.
Bulgaria's Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov has explained that Valev was accused of ordering the murders of the businessman from the Bulgarian city of Shumen Rumen Rachev and the Veliko Tarnovo lawyer Petar Lupov.
Tsvetanov added that the motive for the murders was financial. Valev is also suspected for initiating the beating against Lupov in 2008 and for the arson of his car.
At present, the police are continuing investigating addresses in Veliko Tarnovo.
"The Killers" gang is believed ti be behind these and several other assassinations around the country. The police have detained the President of the Bulgarian Sumo Federation, Petar Stoyanov,, Petar Atmadzhov, Yordan Kolev aka Dancho Salmanskiya, and two other men, believed to be part of "the Killers."
