Police in northern Greece are after an organized crime group distributing forged Euro bills that allegedly have a Bulgarian source, reports bTV quoting Greek site Proto Thema.

During a police operation in the town of Komotini two Greek citizens have been detained with forged 50-Euro bills on them. The police recovered around 200 forged notes.

One of the arrested testified he had bought the bills for one-third of their value from a Bulgarian, who is now wanted by the police.

Three more people were arrested in nearby town of Arginio when attempting to buy items with forged 50-Euro bills.
