The Bulgarian Doitchin Krasev, accused of masquerading as the murdered American boy Jason Evers, will be allowed to wed behind bars.

According to “The Oregonian”, Krasev has been given the authorization by US magistrates to marry his girlfriend at the Multnomah County's Inverness Jail.

The bride-to-be has not been identified in court papers, but will have to obtain a marriage license before the two can marry.

“Now that the legal niceties are out of the way, a more pressing question remains: Will Krasev's bride-to-be take his name? And if so, which one?” the US newspaper said.

The Bulgarian is being held on a federal charge of falsifying a passport application. He faces further charges of identity theft in Ohio, USA.

The former liquor control investigator went to the United States as a student in the 1990s. He disappeared, then resurfaced 14 years ago using the name Jason Robert Evers. The real Jason Evers was a 3-year-old boy who was kidnapped and murdered in 1982 in Ohio.
