The 2010 edition of Rally Bulgaria, the largest Bulgarian automobile race, may be the only one to be part of the World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar.
Rally Bulgaria was supposed to be part of the WRC calendar on rotation with Rally Poland but the latter does not feature in 2011 calendar, reported the Dnevnik Daily Thursday.
Poland should have hosted a rally in 2011 and Bulgaria's next turn should have been in 2012 as was the agreement with Max Mosley, the ex president of Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile FIA.
FIA announced next year's calendar and Poland is not part of it, which casts doubts whether the Bulgaria-Poland rotation may be “forgotten” by Jean Todt, the Federation's new president.
So far FIA has included 13 rallies in the 2011 WRC calendar but there is still an option for 14th, which will most probably be Rally Poland.
Other important decision to be taken during the upcoming FIA board meeting is whether to bring back in the calendar Rally Monte Carlo in 2012, which will additionally hamper Rally Bulgaria's chances of being part of the WRC calendar.
The 2010 edition of Rally Bulgaria is set to take place July 8-10.
