Bulgaria's capital Sofia hosted this weekend one of the most exciting events in the IFBB yearly activity: 2012 IFBB World Classic Bodybuilding Championships and IFBB World Cup.

The most successful Bulgarian bodybuilder Hristomir Hristov has won Bulgaria’s Republican Bodybuilding Title at the tournament of the city of Ruse.
A total of 50 bodybuilders competed in five categories in front of an audience of 1 200 Saturday night.
Hristomir Hristov triumphed in the 80 kg category and was also declared an overall Republican Champion of the tournament organized by the Bulgarian Federation for Bodybuilding and Fitness, Power&Beauty Fitness Shops, and Super-Max.
Atanas Dimitrov from the Triset club in Ruse won first place in the juniors category, Velislav Serafimov from the same club – in the 70 kg category, Atanas Georgiev from the Preslav Club in Veliko Tarnovo won in the 90 kg category, and Georgi Dimitrov from the Leon club in Kazanlak – in the 90+ category. A total of BGN 7 000 were distributed among the winners.
Hristomir Hristov has won twice the world amateur bodybuilding title – the last time in Qatar in the fall of 2009. He is the only Bulgarian to have made it to the IFBB professional bodybuilding league.
