Former Deputy Chair of the ethnic Turkish DPS party, Osman Oktay, has said that DPS leader, Ahmed Dogan, is preparing social protests to destabilize Bulgaria.

Oktay stated to bTV on Friday that the ethnic Turkish party DPS (Movement for Rights and Freedoms) has remained a closed party “especially after 2001 when he and other local leaders left the party." He added that Dogan wanted to stay in government at any cost and this is why he had developed a group of companies to rule the state and to “shoot directly at the center of Sofia.”

Oktay continued that the choice of former Bulgaria Prime Minister Lyuben Berov in 1992 allowed the creation of this business group and that only when current Blue Coalition Co-Chair Ivan Kostov was elected PM in 1997 did the group lose some power. “This power was then taken back by the 'Renaissance' group as soon as Kostov left in 2001,” Oktay added.

"Dogan and the ‘Renaissance’ group decided before the new center-right GERB government came to power that if they are isolated from the government they will destabilize the country," Oktay continued. He added that Dogan and his mafia are preparing for all out war against all political parties who are against them.

Oktay said that Dogan is preparing social protests and has the ability to block Bulgaria. He added that Dogan will use corrupt village mayors to cause chaos and will also block highways and many other places in the country.

He concluded that “Now is not the moment to underestimate the DPS, they have almost gone underground like never before in their 20 years of existence.”
