In a game that is irrelevant for the final ranking of the European Volleyball Championship, Bulgaria lost to Russia with 0:3.

With 21:245, 23:25 and 22:25, Bulgaria suffered its first loss in Turkey, but had qualified for the semi-finals before this latest match, after beating Serbia, Italy, the Czech Republic, Finland and the Netherlands.

Bulgaria, led by Italian coach, Silvano Prandi, Poland and Russia, are all going to the semi-finals. The fourth semi-finalist is not yet known pending another game.

Since the semi-finals' schedule will be determined through a drawing Friday, there is a possibility that Bulgaria will have to play Russia again for the final.
