Bulgarian director Mitko Bozakov has achieved enormous success in Israel staging Luigi Pirandello's play "As You Desire Me" in Sifria theatre in Tel Aviv.
The play is staged for the first time in the country and Bozakov's avant-garde reading of the work provoked praising reviews in the Israeli press.
"A definite theatrical success," renowned critic Michael Handelzalts comments on the play in Haaretz Daily.
"Bozakov's actors are fascinating and create a strange and frightening world on the stage with a feeling for a mystical farce," Handelzalts adds.
"Another success for Bozakov and his talented team, who manage to bring us into Pirandello's world in a new enchanting way," Yediot Ahronot Daily reads.
"I wanted to make the play sound contemporary and to weave the absurd and grotesque into it, along with vitality, suspense and philosophy," Bozakov shares.
Bozakov has been working in Israel for over 10 years and is often said to be one of the most talented and successful directors in the country.
