Deadly Russian Assault on Odesa Sparks Mourning, Allegations of War Crimes
Tragedy struck the Ukrainian port city of Odesa as Russia unleashed a devastating assault, claiming the lives of five people and leaving over 30 injured
Russia announced on Tuesday that it will close its airspace to all Ukrainian planes starting from October 25.
In a statement, the Russian Transport Ministry called on the Federal Air Transport Agency to inform Ukrainian airlines of a ban on using Russian airspace.
This is a retaliatory measure in response to the unilateral move of Ukraine to impose a ban on its airspace to several Russian airlines with the start of the winter navigation on October 25.
Aeroflot, Transaero, Rossiya and Globus are among the Russian airlines subject to the ban imposed by Ukraine.
The decision was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Monday.
In response, Ukrainian airplanes will be deprived of the opportunity to land in any of the Russian airports to fuel the tanks or do repairs and will have to round the Russian airspace, Pravda informs.
