The end results of Bulgaria's Sunday early general elections will be published by Thursday at the latests, stated Bulgarian Central Electoral Commission spokesman Biser Troyanov.

"Thursday at latest the CEC will be prepared to reveal the end results - including number of MPs for parties and coalitions that have overcome the 4% threshold," said Troyanov at a briefing Monday.

"Within 7 days of the end of the vote [i.e. this coming Sunday], CEC will reveal the names of MPs elected," added he.

With this statement, Troyanov has in effect said only mentioned official deadlines stipulated by Bulgaria's Election Code, which says that the results must be revealed withing 4 days and names of MPs - within 7 days of the vote.

At present, the Central Electoral Commission has published data based on a total of 99.563% of election protocols.

According to these results, Bulgaria's former ruling EPP-affiliated GERB party comes out first with 30.74% of the votes.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party comes out first with 27.06% of ballots, followed by the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms with 10.46% and nationalist party Ataka - 7.39%.

All other parties and coalitions have scored below the election 4% hurdle.

The party which is at present the closest to the threshold is the new National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria - 3.75%.

The Front has been founded by Skat TV owner Valeri Simeonov after a rift with Ataka, and is especially strong in Bulgaria's south-eastern Burgas region.
