The torrential rains that swept Bulgaria over the last two days flooded homes, downed bridges, cut electricity and left hundreds of people in need of emergency aid.
State of emergency has been declared in seven municipalities in the districts of Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Haskovo and Stara Zagora.
Electricity supplies have been cut off in more than thirty settlements across the country.
Traffic across Kapitan Andreevo check point on the border with Turkey, in southeastern Bulgaria, was disrupted after rains left it under water.
The floods claimed two lives in the region of Montana, north-western Bulgaria.
