The leader of the GERB party was the first to cast his ballot in Bulgaria's MEP vote on Sunday.
"I voted for the future of my family, for Bulgaria's deserved place in United Europe," GERB leader Tsvetan Tsvetanov said.
He believes the torrential rain on the election day will bring hope and change for the Bulgarians.
Citizens for Bulgaria's European Development - better known as GERB, the party of incumbent Sofia mayor Boyko Borisov faces its first ever elections with a campaign focused mainly on its domestic rivals from the ruling majority. Former judge Dushana Zdravkova heads the list.
