Sadness has been creeping into my heart lately, as the battle of thickheaded giants between Boyko Borisov and Ivan Kostov gripped the media attention. Seeing Ivan Kostov bend over for Borissov so that his presidential candidate could only get his oh-so-vital election support is just plain sad. Having the ever-lawful mayor call on someone to drop a claim against him just so he can smile benevolently is pathetic at best.

But what's worse is Borissov's now-that-I-think-about-it attitude, once he saw his archenemy put down the sword. As Kostov's underlings, their faces contorted with the emotional pain, admitted their defeat, Borissov waved them off yet again, saying he didn't actually need them to do so. It's not manly, it's not ethical, and it's not even nice. No wonder he's got guards watching out for a bullet headed his way.

Kostov is not the most loved person in the universe... he's not even in the top 10,000, but he is a representative of our country and seeing him broken is still sad. The general, with his military background, should know all too well, that you can do many things to a man and get away with it, but once you've stomped on his honour he's got nothing left.
