A minibus has caught fire in front of Sofia University in the capital center.
Amid fears that the vehicle could explode, passengers aboard were evacuated, but the traffic was stranded for more than an hour in rush time.
A number of incidents, caused by highspeeding, have earned Sofia minibuses, part of the city's public transport fleet, the infamous name of risky transportation.
The citizens of Sofia continue to prefer them because they are faster than buses and cheaper than taxis.
