Bulgarian football player Radostin Kishishev has suffered an injury while playing for Charlton versus Portsmouth, Bulgarian media said.
Kishishev, who is also enlisted with the Bulgarian national team, had his nose broken and his right eye swollen with a haemorrhage.
A detailed medical examination is scheduled for Monday, and the player hopes to be able to return to the pitch right away.
The attacking midfielder, aged 31, was recently handed a new three-year deal, keeping him with Charlton until 2007.
