Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic is due to open his much-delayed defence when his trial resumes shortly at The Hague. Milosevic's poor health has caused dozens of delays, but he insists on representing himself. Judges will be faced with deciding whether to impose a lawyer on him. Milosevic faces charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes for his alleged role in the bloody 1990s wars in the Balkans. The trial opened in February 2002, and judges are keen for it to be completed by October 2005.
