The suspension of Greek sprinters Kostas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou from the Olympics after they missed a drugs test is a great disappointment for the entire nation, media reported. They have been suspended pending an International Olympic Committee hearing on Monday. The pair failed to take a drugs test on Thursday and were then hospitalised after a motorcycle accident. Missing a drugs test is regarded as an offence punishable by a ban of up to two years. Kenteris, the Olympic 200m champion, and Thanou, who won silver in the women's 100m at Sydney, were due to attend a drugs test on Thursday evening but failed to show up.
