The US Condemns Houthis for Abducting Bulgarian Sailors
Barbara Leaf, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs, criticized the Yemeni Houthis for their inhumane actions in capturing merchant ships, including the "Galaxy Leader"
We all should work together for Bulgaria’s reputation internationally, efforts for coordination with the president should continue. This is what Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva said to reporters at the Parliament in connection with President Rumen Radev’s statement that the foreign affairs ministry was not seeking opinion on important foreign policy issues such as the treaty with Macedonia and that Bulgaria’s position on Venezuela was a copy, Focus News Agency reports. Regarding the latter statement about the copy, Zaharieva said that Bulgaria had participated in all working groups and at all levels in Brussels through its representatives.
“The government believes that it is good for Bulgaria to speak with one voice internationally. We very often send our positions on different topics in advance so that the colleagues in the president’s office read them,” she said, stressing that the government was the one in charge of foreign policy and that coordination efforts should continue.
The treaty with Macedonia had been discussed with President Radev although the government is not constitutionally obliged to do it, she added.
