Rescuers Continue Work at Nigeria Blast Site

Rescue efforts have continued throughout the night after an explosion ripped through buildings in the centre of Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos, killing dozens of people. Many others were injured in the blast in the heart of the business district, which appears to have centred on a four-storey complex of shops and homes, flanked by local banks. Police had to mount an armed guard around the site after looters ransacked the Prudent Bank, one of the buildings damaged in the blast, cleaning out the banks vaults, according to Nigeria's Red Cross chief.
