A huge fire is raging near the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv on Monday, with the fire having engulfed a large area of dry grass and stubble.
The fire has engulfed lands between the villages of Benkovski, Tsaratsovo and Radinovo and is in close proximity to Trakia motorway.
The fire is threatening the industrial zone of Plovdiv and is hampering visibility on Trakia motorway and the bypass of Asenovgrad.
Golyamokonarsko shose in Plovdiv has been sealed off to traffic, while passenger and freight trains between Plovdiv and Panagyurishte have temporarily been suspended.
Five crews of firefighters are extinguishing the fire. The likely causes of the fire are human negligence or intentional fire. The fire is expected to be extinguished by the end of the day.
