Bulgaria is to make structural changes to its road transport agency after the revelation of possible woringdoing in the issuence of driving licenses and certificates to road transportant company, Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski has said.
Moskovski has told private bTV broadcaster that his institution is working to make sure the range of activities done by the Road Transport Administration Executive Agency will be "reassigned".
He has stopped short of saying whether the step includes a reassignment to other agencies or to departments within the road transportation agency.
Moskovski has also assrted he is "shocked" by the findings of investigators revealed so far.
Moskovski has also proposed that the current chairman, Tsvetelin Tsvetanov, be dismissed, and that his deputy Krasimir Kalaidjiev serve as interim executive director.
A total of 14 agency officials including Tsvetanov have been arrested in a country-wide sweep against suspected “corruption practices” at the agency responsible for issuing certificates to road transport companies as well as driving licences.
