Cameron arrived on a two-day visit to Bulgaria on Thursday, becoming the first prime minister of the United Kingdom to visit the country in the past sixteen years.
On Thursday, the British prime minister held meetings with Borisov and Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.
Among the main topics of discussion during the first day of his visit were the fight against terrorism, the refugee crisis, the proposed reforms of the EU.
Cameron noted that the relationship between Bulgaria and the UK is important both for the security and well-being of the two countries.
Following his meeting with Borisov, he noted the Bulgarian achievements in the areas of economic reform and fiscal discipline.
Cameron also highlighted the steps taken by Bulgaria to increase its defence budget as well as its cooperation in tackling contraband.
The Bulgarian prime minister noted his good friendship ties with Cameron and shared that they have always supported each other at the meetings of the European Council.
The two prime ministers are expected to land at the airport in Burgas and travel to the town of Elhovo, which is the site of a refugee centre.
Then, they are expected to proceed to the border checkpoint of Lesovo to inspect the new section of the border fence.
